A cabochon cartouche, wreathed in scrolling foliage, anchors the lower panel - the same device found on the era’s most celebrated New Orleans market beds. The head posts terminate in acorn-turned finials; the foot posts carry cannonball finials over reeded columns, echoing the earlier American Federal turned-post bed.
