The Colmar Art Deco Salon Leather Sofa takes its cues from the refined domestic salons of Alsace in the interwar decades, when French decorative restraint met Central European craftsmanship. Its continuous, gently curving back and integrated arms reflect the late Art Deco movement of the 1930s, when designers favored aerodynamic forms, disciplined proportions, and architectural clarity over ornament. Upholstered in Italian leather and set on a low hardwood rail with turned feet, the silhouette aligns with seating produced across Strasbourg, Colmar, and the Upper Rhine region during the transition from high Art Deco to Streamline Moderne.

Unlike earlier Victorian or Edwardian upholstery, interwar Continental sofas emphasized uninterrupted surfaces and sculptural curvature, allowing leather to age gracefully while preserving structural integrity.
