In the noble hôtels particuliers of Le Marais - that ancient quartier of Paris where France's oldest aristocratic families maintained their grandest private residences - the Louis XVI garniture de salon represented the apogee of cultivated domestic life. This magnificent three-piece suite, comprising a canapé en corbeille and a pair of flanking bergères en gondole, embodies that tradition with complete fidelity.

The continuous barrel-form back rail - the defining corbeille silhouette - sweeps in an unbroken arc above upholstery of champagne-ground silk brocade, its surface animated by rose medallions set within acanthus-scrolled cartouches. Reeded tapering pieds cannelés rise from carved rosette corner blocks; scrolled arm terminals with reeded supports complete a frame of restrained neoclassical authority. Brass-headed clous dorés trace the full perimeter in a disciplined golden line.

Crafted in pure teak, this garniture carries the quiet gravitas of a suite made not for seasons, but for generations. A room anchored by this garniture does not merely reference history. It inhabits it.
