Period Inspiration:

Named for the strait dividing Denmark from Sweden, the Øresund Suite channels the case-sided cabinetry that defined Danish Modern seating at mid-century. This three-seat sofa and matching pair of lounge chairs are built with teak frames and teak veneer panels enclosing the sides and back - a construction method rooted in the Danish snedker (master cabinetmaker) tradition, where furniture makers applied cabinet-grade joinery to upholstered seating instead of exposed frames. The approach gained international recognition through the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild exhibitions (1927–1966), the annual showcase that carried Danish furniture design onto the world stage.

Loose, channel-stitched cushions in rich oxblood leather sit within the teak cases, finished with top-stitched piping along every seam. Slender, tapered inset legs - a hallmark of Danish Modern restraint - lift the suite cleanly off the floor, reinforcing the horizontal, unornamented profile the movement is known for.
