Period Inspiration:

Draped in saffron-gold velvet and finished with bullion fringe, this channel-tufted settee revives a design vocabulary born in 1920s–30s Paris, where the Art Deco movement first paired continuous fan tufting with the curved, boat-like "gondola" back. The tufting sweeps unbroken from arm to back to arm, with no seams and no breaks, while the reverse is fully upholstered, a hallmark of pieces built to stand freely at the center of a room rather than against a wall. Along the base, a deep bullion fringe skirt, a form of passementerie rooted in the French guild trade established in the 16th century, conceals the frame entirely, a decorative technique that migrated from stately European parlors into 20th-century glamour interiors. 

The result is a fully sculptural, serpentine-front settee with no exposed leg, upholstered in a rich, plush velvet that shifts from honey to amber under changing light.
