The Mayfair Club Leather Sofa draws from the established tradition of early mid 20th century London club seating, particularly the restrained forms favored in Mayfair’s private members’ clubs and library rooms between the 1930s and 1950s. Unlike the deeply buttoned Victorian Chesterfield, this typology reflects a later evolution: squared arms, loose box cushions, tailored nailhead trim, and a more architectural stance suited to executive lounges and metropolitan interiors.

Upholstered in full-grain Italian leather selected for its natural grain and capacity to develop patina, the sofa expresses the material honesty associated with British club furniture. The block arms and structured frame reference interwar upholstery practices, while hand-applied nailhead detailing follows traditional English trimming methods. Raised hardwood feet provide proportion and visual lightness consistent with post-Edwardian adaptations of club seating.
