Period Inspiration:

Before rolling ladders ran on brass rails, grand English libraries climbed on steps like these. Rising in three quarter-turns around a central turned newel - its ball finial doubling as a hand-hold at the top tread - this spiral corner library steps belongs to a form the antiques trade still catalogues as Georgian or Regency work: compact enough for a study corner, sturdy enough to bear a reader's full weight, tread by tread.

The bobbin-turned supports are a deliberate historical choice, not a decorative afterthought. Ball-and-reel turning first flourished in England's north - Yorkshire and Derbyshire chairmaking in particular - through the late seventeenth century, then returned in the nineteenth as a favoured language of "Old English" revival craftsmanship. Here that lineage continues in a different register: solid teak, turned and joined by hand in the Anglo-Indian workshop tradition, where European library furniture has long been reimagined by craftsmen.

Every riser, tread, and baluster is cut and finished individually - no two sets leave the workshop quite alike. Built for the home library, the reading corner, or any collection that has finally outgrown arm's reach.
