Period Inspiration:

In Allerød, the forested town north of Copenhagen where Fritz Hansen relocated its sawmill and the Pedersen brothers founded PP Møbler in 1953 to realise Hans Wegner's most exacting designs, Danish cabinetmaking arrived at a disciplined vocabulary: raked, turned legs; flush, architectural arms; upholstery worked into precise grids of button tufting. The Allerød Atelier Hunter Green Settee carries that vocabulary forward in full-grain leather, waxed to a deep hunter green pull-up finish. Two loose back cushions are hand-tufted in a formal button grid, flanked by canted corner bolsters; the seat cushions carry a matching quilted diamond stitch. Flush track arms and a smooth boxed back are finished throughout with fine corded piping. Four legs - hand-turned, tapered, and splayed at the characteristic Danish angle - are cut from solid teak.

The Collectors renders this Danish modern leather sofa entirely by hand, worked by master craftsmen in the workshop discipline Allerød's cabinetmakers perfected seventy years ago. Every button is hand-set, every seam hand-corded, every leg hand-turned on the lathe. This hunter green leather settee is built with the intent Danish guild cabinetmakers held - furniture meant to be inherited, not replaced.
