Inspired by the refined interiors of Regency England, The Carlton House Cane Bergère takes its name from Carlton House, the celebrated London residence of the Prince Regent, later King George IV, whose patronage helped define one of Britain's most elegant decorative periods. Drawing upon the classical influences of the Regency era, this bergère combines architectural form, restrained ornament, and exceptional comfort in a manner characteristic of the finest early nineteenth-century seating.

Handcrafted from solid teak wood, the chair features gracefully scrolled arms, reeded front legs, and sweeping rear supports inspired by Regency furniture makers who looked to the architecture of Greece and Rome for inspiration. Handwoven natural cane panels provide visual lightness and practical comfort, a feature particularly valued in both British and Anglo-Indian interiors for its breathability in warmer climates. The generously padded genuine leather seat introduces warmth and richness while complementing the chair's disciplined silhouette.

Neither purely formal nor entirely casual, the bergère occupied a distinguished place in Regency libraries, drawing rooms, and morning rooms.
