The Nordic Dusk Mid-Century Danish Modern Armchair

Period Inspiration:

Shaped in the spirit of Danish Modern, this armchair reflects the ideals of the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild exhibitions (1927–1966): honest materials, human proportion and joinery treated as ornament. A sculpted, wraparound armrest rail embraces the sitter, while softly flared arm terminals invite the hand to rest. Tapered round legs lift the frame lightly from the floor. Floating seat and back cushions are upholstered in black leather with piped edges and fine stitching. The mottled grain will deepen with use.

The warm, mahogany-toned teak wood frame glows against the dark hide, a restful contrast reminiscent of dusk over Nordic waters. It works as a dining armchair, desk chair, reading chair or accent piece in a study, living room or lounge, and pairs naturally with teak, walnut or oak tables and sideboards. A refined Scandinavian modern inspired statement piece for collectors and design lovers.
