The Windsor Rococo Revival Tea & Parlour Table belongs wholly to that rare category of objects that do not merely furnish a room but impart the splendour of an age. It’s an exquisite relic of the mid-19th century, when Victorian Britain embraced the florid language of the Rococo Revival with unabashed enthusiasm and technical bravura.

Carved from richly figured Teak wood, the table’s distinctive serpentine “cartouche” top - flowing in soft undulations - echoes the silhouettes depicted in 18th-century French salon interiors. Its apron is a theatre of sculptural abundance: scrolling acanthus, voluted tendrils, pendant oak-leaf drops, and roses rendered with an almost botanical naturalism. Beneath, the cabriole legs sweep outward with courtly elegance, each terminating in carved foot terminals that subtly recall the coquille (shell) motifs of Louis XV furniture.

At the very heart of the piece, an intricate central stretcher - ornamented with tiered finial turnings and C-scrolls - anchors the table with the architectural balance characteristic of mid-Victorian Rococo Revival design (c. 1850–1875). It is a flourish both structural and symbolic: a reminder of the period’s fascination with decorative harmony, artisanal virtuosity, and the revival of 18th-century French forms adapted for the modern parlour.
