The Windermere Serpentine Console

Period Inspiration:

The Windermere Serpentine Console takes its bearing from the English occasional tables of the mid-to-late Victorian era - compact, versatile pieces once found in hallways and drawing rooms, holding a lamp, a card tray, or a bowl of flowers. Its top is shaped in the serpentine manner, with gently scrolled corners and a moulded lip, carrying the lighter Georgian and Sheraton tradition of shaped tables into a heavier, more sculptural Victorian register. Three legs, turned in alternating rings and balusters and tapering to a slender foot, are joined near the base by a shaped box stretcher with turned corner knops - a detail period makers used for both stability and visual rhythm.

Hand-executed in solid teak and finished to a deep, mahogany-toned polish, the table reads equally well as an entryway console, a hallway table, or an occasional side table - in a period room or a contemporary one seeking a single, historically grounded anchor piece.

Made to order and finished entirely by hand, each Windermere console is a singular, heirloom-quality object, never a mass-produced replica.
